How to get naturally white teeth
Straight, white teeth are the trademark of many Hollywood stars. But it’s not only the stars who want a radiant smile – we want one too. There are, however, a few things we need to bear in mind.
Tips and tricks found online are often more harmful than helpful and can put a lot of strain on the teeth. Ideally, we simply preserve the natural whiteness of our teeth for as long as possible and prevent discolouration. That’s possible with a few simple everyday restrictions.
4 tips for white teeth
If you follow these 4 basic rules, nothing stands in the way of a naturally white smile.
1. Avoid coffee & tea
It’s common knowledge that coffee and tea can discolour your teeth. But if you just can’t keep your hands off these two drinks, you can do your teeth a favour by simply sipping coffee and tea through a straw in future. That way the liquid doesn’t reach the front teeth and staining is prevented. Incidentally, the same applies to soft drinks such as cola, and to red wine.
2. Don’t smoke
Very important for our health and for the health of our teeth: don’t smoke. Long-term smokers are often quickly recognisable by their discoloured teeth. It looks unattractive and is an unhealthy vice, too.
3. Clean your aligners regularly
Invisible braces should be worn for approx. 22 hours a day. They can, however, simply be taken out for eating and drinking. Before putting the aligners back in after a meal or a sweetened drink, you should brush your teeth. It’s still very important to clean the aligners regularly too, so that no residue can build up in them.
4. Oral hygiene
Having a professional dental hygiene appointment every six months is an easy way to maintain the health and natural whiteness of your teeth. Many patients are amazed at the visible difference that can be achieved so easily – without any bleaching.
