Deducting braces from your taxes

Braces are, of course, a financial burden for every patient. Orthodontic treatment carried out by orthodontists – the only kind we provide – is recognised by the tax office as an “extraordinary expense” (außergewöhnliche Belastung), so all expenses from the previous year can be claimed in your annual tax assessment (Lohnsteuerausgleich).
