How invisible braces work
Four steps with our braces to a magical smile. With just a few appointments at our clinic. And plenty of time for your life.
How orthodontic treatment with invisible braces works
The right braces
At your free consultation, we first talk through your needs. Our doctor will then find the ideal braces for you and explain them. The course of treatment, the treatment goal and the treatment duration are precisely documented and put in writing, so you can read through everything again calmly at home. Together we’ll find the perfect financing option for you, so that your braces are affordable.
3D simulation of your braces
Now we carry out the exact case planning for your invisible braces. You come to us for X-rays, photos and a digital scan – all in just one appointment. Using this data, we plan your braces down to the millimetre, without taking any risks. The result is a 3D simulation of the treatment outcome. So with us you can see in advance what your teeth will look like after the orthodontic treatment!
Your invisible braces
We arrange an appointment at which your orthodontic treatment with your new braces begins, using the best possible method for you. You come in for check-ups roughly every 10-14 weeks. Depending on your malocclusion – but on average after one year – the braces are removed and you have your dream smile!
Smile forever
Straight after orthodontic treatment, the teeth need to be held in place so that they don’t shift back again. To make sure your teeth stay in line in future too, you’ll get a retention appliance. This is usually a bonded wire retainer on the inside of the teeth or an invisible aligner for night-time wear.

I was very happy – from beginning to end. Competent advice, short waiting times, friendly support and a great result.

This is what your new invisible aligners look like!
It’s almost a shame that hardly anyone apart from you is likely to notice them – because the braces are invisible to others.
Two ways to your dream smile
Both methods can effectively correct misaligned teeth. Which one is right for you depends on the complexity of your malocclusion, aesthetics and comfort – we’ll discuss this at your free consultation.
Invisible aligners
- Transparent and modern: an almost invisible correction of the teeth
- Removable for eating and oral hygiene
- Comfortable to wear, as there are no wires or brackets
- Hardly any pain or tension thanks to moderate pressure
- No effect on speech, no restrictions when doing sport
- Possible for simple to complex tooth corrections
- New aligners every two weeks, check-ups roughly every 10–14 weeks
Fixed braces (brackets)
- Treatment is fast and effectively achieves the goal
- Unlike removable braces, they can’t be forgotten
- Available at the Eltz Institut with clear and silver brackets
- Made of metal and sometimes ceramic parts, the so-called brackets
- Firmly bonded and therefore not removable
- If you’re not happy with the result of your invisible aligners, we’ll continue your treatment with brackets free of charge until you are happy
What do patients say about the treatment duration?
In this video, patients talk about how long their treatment took and how often they had appointments.
Danijela’s braces
Year after year, Danijela became more and more unhappy with her teeth – until she decided to change something. Thanks to the correction, a shy girl who didn’t like to laugh became a self-confident woman who enjoys her life and loves to smile.
