5 tips for a radiant smile
See the dentist twice a year and brush your teeth twice a day – those are the basics of healthy teeth. Not forgetting dental floss, of course. But how do Hollywood stars get their radiant smiles?
It doesn’t always have to be veneers or bleaching straight away – sometimes very simple tricks can help you achieve a particularly beautiful and, above all, healthy smile.
1. Consistent oral hygiene
Brushing your teeth every day is the be-all and end-all of a healthy set of teeth. You should brush for three minutes morning and evening to prevent tooth decay and diseases of the tissues that support the teeth. It is also generally advisable to brush your teeth promptly after particularly sugary meals. Whether you use an electric or a conventional toothbrush doesn’t really matter in principle – technique is what counts.
You should also have a professional dental hygiene treatment 1–2 times a year. This removes even stubborn deposits and so helps prevent dental disease.
2. Straight teeth
A mouth with straight teeth is just as crucial for a radiant smile. So successful orthodontic treatment comes first here. Adults in particular are often afraid of braces and the everyday restrictions they supposedly bring. With invisible braces, however, there are no restrictions. The aligners are designed to fit easily into everyday life. You don’t have to limit what you eat and drink, because the invisible aligners can be taken out at any time. No metal wires standing in the way of a perfect smile.
3. Avoid sugar
We learned it as children: sugar is bad for your teeth. And it’s just as true in adulthood. So it’s better to enjoy it in moderation – the health of your teeth, and of your whole body, will thank you for it.
4. Learn to love dental floss
Some people love dental floss, some hate it. But we should all use it. It is particularly important because the bristles of a toothbrush can’t reach the spaces between the teeth where they touch each other. These quickly become the perfect breeding ground for tooth decay. That’s why flossing should become a fixed part of your daily oral hygiene.
