These braces are perfect for teenagers
For teenagers, aesthetics and appearance play a particularly important role. Wires and metal in the mouth are out of the question for now. And yet this is often exactly the age at which orthodontic treatment is a big wish. What options are there when fixed braces are ruled out?
Invisible braces for teenagers are the answer. Behind them is a virtually invisible, innovative method from orthodontics that uses removable, transparent plastic aligners to correct even severe and complex misalignments of the teeth and jaw.
Fixed braces vs. invisible aligners
Unfortunately, fixed braces are always visible and can be uncomfortable in everyday life. Food gets caught in them and brushing is fairly laborious. Thanks to the latest technology, invisible aligners, on the other hand, are barely visible when worn and easy to handle. They are just as effective as conventional fixed braces. This means you can carry on doing the activities you enjoy – but without any restrictions or irritation from metal. They also make caring for your teeth easier: you can brush as usual and use dental floss too. As a result, your dental health improves overall.
The aligners are made especially for you, because your teeth are as unique as you are.
How invisible braces are worn
Discipline is very important with invisible aligners. The recommended wearing time is 20–22 hours a day to guarantee the best possible result. The blue colour indicator dot shows that the optimal wearing time has been reached. The aligners should only be taken out for eating and brushing your teeth. That means you mustn’t forget to put them back in straight after every meal. They don’t get in the way in everyday life at all, as they are invisible and you can hardly feel them. You can play
sport or make music without any worries.
Every 2 weeks you switch to the next aligner yourself. The orthodontist checks the progress of the tooth movement at regular intervals (approx. every 8 weeks). Your aligners are tailored to your needs and come with special features: they are individually fitted to your teeth.
