You’d love a beautiful, perfect smile, but wires and metal in your mouth are out of the question for you, if only for aesthetic reasons? You want to finally enjoy your youth without a care and keep your mind free for the things that really matter?
Thanks to the latest high-tech in orthodontics, braces are becoming more and more invisible and can be worn ever more freely in everyday life – conventional braces with metal brackets are now a thing of the past!
Get your self-confidence back with unique invisible braces technology for teens – because your smile is the most important thing you can wear!
What are invisible braces for teens?
Invisible braces for teens are an almost invisible, innovative orthodontic method that uses removable, transparent plastic aligners to correct even severe and complicated misalignments of the teeth and jaws.
Your smile is as unique as you are – that’s why clear aligners are custom-made to your individual needs for your treatment. And the best part: they are transparent and so wafer-thin that you won’t feel them when you wear them.
How do invisible aligners differ from conventional braces?
Thanks to revolutionary braces technology, the invisible, removable braces are barely visible when worn and are every bit as good as conventional fixed braces. This means you can keep doing the activities you enjoy, but without any restrictions or irritation from metal and wires in your mouth. It also makes looking after your teeth easier, so you can brush your teeth as usual and use dental floss too. This improves your dental health overall.
How do invisible braces work?
With this revolutionary braces technology, you can see in advance what your desired result will look like once treatment is complete. At your initial consultation, our experienced orthodontists will give you detailed advice. With invisible aligner treatment, you receive a series of custom-made aligners, specially matched to your course of treatment, which are transparent, removable and almost invisible.

How long and how often should the invisible aligners be worn?
This is where your cooperation and motivation come in! The smile you want is a team effort and we’re on your team – so the more often you wear your aligners, the faster you’ll get your dream smile.
It takes some discipline to stick to the recommended wearing time of 22 hours. But because the aligners are invisible, most teens find it easy anyway. The aligners are only taken out for eating and for cleaning your teeth.
Invisible braces only work if the aligners are worn for at least 20 to 22 hours a day. That’s why we check the progress of tooth movement at regular intervals. Your aligners are specially tailored to your needs and come with special features:
- a blue colour indicator dot on the aligner that shows the optimal wearing time – so there’s no cheating! Over time the dot slowly fades, so that together we can better assess the wearing time
- your aligners are specially designed so that they don’t hinder the eruption of the canines, premolars and molars
What happens if an invisible aligner gets lost?
If your aligners mysteriously go missing or you misplace them, we can order new aligners at any time.
How long does aligner treatment take?
As every treatment is individual, treatment times can vary. As a rule, it takes between 9 and 18 months. In most cases, check-ups with us are only needed every 10–14 weeks.
For smaller treatments, the average duration is 6 months, and it can be completed in less than 3 months if you change your aligners weekly.

Which misalignments can invisible braces be used for?
Whether it’s an overbite, crossbite or crowding: with the unique aligner system, even complex misalignments can be treated effectively and efficiently using state-of-the-art technology and sophisticated computer-based 3D models of the jaws and teeth. Here you’ll find an overview of possible misalignments.
Possible malocclusions
The malocclusions listed below can occur individually or in combination. Treatment with invisible aligners has proven clinically effective for malocclusions and can be used for simple to complex corrections.
Spacing (gaps)
Missing teeth and gaps between the teeth often significantly affect not only appearance, but also the function of the teeth and the bite.
Possible consequences:
- gum pockets
- receding gums
- shifting teeth
- functional problems (difficulty biting off food)
Crossbite
With a crossbite, one or more upper back teeth bite on the inside of the lower back teeth. A crossbite can occur on one side or on both sides.
Possible consequences:
- gum disease
- bone loss
- tooth wear
- asymmetrical face
- jaw joint discomfort
Open bite
With an open bite, the front teeth of the upper and lower jaw do not touch each other, even when the teeth are closed together. An open bite can also occur at the sides. In extreme cases, only the rearmost molars touch when biting.
Possible consequences:
- missing and/or painful biting and chewing function
- jaw joint problems
- wear of the teeth
- craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD)
- negative effects on speech
- visible change in the shape of the face due to “lengthening” of the lower jaw
Underbite (forward position of the lower jaw)
An underbite can impair the normal function of the incisors or molars.
Possible consequences:
- tooth wear
- painful jaw and joint problems
- impaired facial aesthetics
Are invisible braces right for me?
With invisible aligners, even complex orthodontic treatments are possible. Fixed braces only need to be chosen if the aligner method could not successfully correct the position of the teeth because of its limited application of force, if you weren’t disciplined and motivated enough to wear the aligners consistently, or if cost reasons speak against the treatment. At our practice, we’re happy to advise you together with your parents on which option is right for you! Correcting your teeth shouldn’t hold you back and should, of course, fit in with your active lifestyle.

Advantages of invisible braces over conventional braces
Can I afford invisible braces?
At an initial consultation, you’ll find out how much your treatment will cost. We generally follow the fair fee guidelines of the Vienna Dental Chamber. Regardless of how long your treatment takes, the price agreed with you will not be increased afterwards.
Invisible braces with payment in instalments
With our financing service, you can easily pay for your orthodontic treatment in affordable instalments over up to 5 years.
Unfortunately, public health insurance funds do not currently cover invisible aligners.
We’re happy to give you information at an initial consultation at our practice and to advise you on any other orthodontic topics and questions.

Who gets free braces?
At our practice, we carry out orthodontic treatments every day with great success. Our competent team will be happy to advise you, together with your parents, on whether free braces covered by public health insurance are an option for you.
The requirement for free braces is that you have a misalignment of grade 4 or 5 on the five-point scale of the international IOTN classification. If the misalignment falls into category 4 or 5, no approval from the health insurance fund is required.
The braces are paid for until, on average, 70 per cent of the misalignment has been corrected. However, the health insurance fund only pays for fixed braces with silver brackets. Invisible braces, which we offer at our practice, are excluded from this funding.
